Yüksel Dal’s artistic practice encompasses a rich tapestry of concepts, including system dynamics, architecture, and hyperobjects, while engaging with pressing themes such as evolution, relativity, climate change, and the implications of nuclear weapons. His work navigates the complexities of inter-objectivity and space-time, exploring the intersections of temporality, futurism, sound, science, philosophy, and fantasy.
Dal is deeply concerned with understanding the shifting paradigms of perception and cognition. He challenges conventional ways of thinking through innovative and timeless patterns, often expressed through a diverse range of mediums—including drawing, installation, sculptural objects, video, and photography. His approach focuses on the relationships formed with materials, emphasizing the connotations that arise rather than the objects themselves, all articulated through a straightforward yet poignant language.
His recent exhibitions include "Fragile. Handle with Care," a group show at Rarares Gallery in Dubai (2024), and "Dialogues" at the same venue, previously known as Boccara Gallery Dubai (2024). Other notable showcases are "A Hundred Years Later: A Young Look at Pierre Loti" at the French Cultural Center in Ankara (2023), "New Grammar of Images" in Istanbul (2022), and the Swab Barcelona Art Fair (2022).
Dal's works have been featured in significant events, such as the 16th Istanbul Biennial Parallel Event Program with "Spiral Jetty / Dalgakıran" (2019), and "Infinitely Small Infinitely Large," a solo exhibition at Mixer in Istanbul (2018). His pieces are included in various private and museum collections, such as The Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM), where the "As it is" and "Hemeroscopium" series are part of the permanent collection. His international presence spans cities like Los Angeles, New York City, London, Zurich, and Dubai, solidifying his status as a significant contemporary artist.
