AMINA ILLUMINATI

"The posthuman body is not a fixed entity, but a process of becoming — an assemblage of forces, affects, and relations.”

Rosi Braidotti,

The Posthuman (2013)

In Dubai, art constantly negotiates between global visibility and local identity. Within this context, AMINA ILLUMINATI at RARARES Gallery resists the familiar “aesthetics of consumption,” inviting viewers to slow down and witness light, material, and memory as fragile, transformative processes.

Light as Process, Not as Symbol
Illuminati reflects the politics of visibility. Light here is not exalted illumination but a delicate threshold where what is concealed insists on being revealed. Amina evokes the soul, where artistic expression transforms emotion into form. Through this encounter, RARARES offers a space for soul enlightenment.

Material as an Archive of Memory

The artists explore material as a vessel of experience:
* Alessandro Montalbano (Italy) sculpts bronze into dynamic forms that pulse with rhythm and energy. The weight of the material becomes a means to suggest movement and transformation rather than fixed form.

* Alyazya Almansoori (UAE) in Unveil combines hijab, branches, and chain into complex assemblages. The interplay of materials reflects tensions between concealment and revelation, personal narrative, and cultural symbolism.

* Hadil Moufti (Saudi Arabia) in Le Village de Ma Mère uses mixed media to map intimate memories of the maternal home. Ephemeral and textural, her materials translate private recollection into a collective cultural experience, where vulnerability becomes resilience.

* Elnaz Javani (Iran/USA) traces the body through performative and sculptural practices, turning skin, fabric, and form into archives of lived experience. Her material choices embody the passage from private embodiment to shared visibility.

* Valeriya Isyak (Russia) works with porcelain, historically associated with fragility and decoration, creating delicate sculptures that resist traditional hierarchies. Vulnerability becomes a quiet but powerful form of resistance.

From the Personal to the Collective
Illumination in this exhibition unfolds as a process: memory, matter, and the body reveal themselves collectively through their material presence.

AMINA ILLUMINATI transforms personal and intimate stories into a broader discourse on female subjectivity, materiality as language, and the negotiation of local and global contexts—resisting spectacle while highlighting the fragile power of emergence.
