RARARES Gallery is proud to present Mederic Turay's inaugural show in the UAE, featuring the debut collection of his ceramic works in the exhibition Eidos.

Mederic explores the distortion of form, palettes, and symbols, creating a truly unique artistic style imbued with rich conceptual meaning. While embracing the contemporary spirit of his work, Mederic pays homage to the heritage of the noble Akan people. As the 11th-century Arab historian Al-Bakri noted, “The Akan people are known for their strong connection between visual and verbal expressions and a distinctive blending of art and philosophy.”

Mederic Turay has carved out a distinctive niche in the complex realm of Contemporary African Art by seamlessly combining abstraction with primitivism, blending Western urban styles with African traditions, and infusing spiritual depth into every brushstroke and collage element.
