Rarares Gallery present Elysian Awakening of Powerful Spring
In the radiant bloom of Elysian Awakening of Powerful Spring, a new exhibition curated by Sara Serpilli and Marina Baisel, the spotlight turns to the transformative power of female creativity. This exhibition is not merely a showcase — it is a tribute, a declaration, and an invitation to witness the profound energy, resilience, and poetic vision that women bring to the contemporary art world.
Through a rich and diverse selection of works, Elysian Awakening invites us to explore the many facets of womanhood — strength and softness, memory and myth, silence and voice. In conversation with the curators, we uncover their deliberate choice to feature only female artists — a choice rooted in the urgency to rebalance representation and to amplify voices too often sidelined in art history.
This collection spans generations and geographies. Renowned artists like Fatma Latooh and Barbara Duran explore identity and transformation through light, texture, and abstract form. Meanwhile, emerging talents such as Sara Alkhayyal and Zeina Abdullah reinterpret cultural heritage with bold, contemporary language, bridging the past and present with visionary clarity. Natalie’s immersive installations transform space into sanctuary, inviting reflection, healing, and reconnection with the self.
Historically cast as muses, women have long been the subject of art, but not its authors. This exhibition reclaims that narrative. Elysian Awakening celebrates the artist as woman, and the woman as creator — not in isolation, but as part of a growing collective that reshapes and reclaims artistic space.
At its heart, this exhibition is a celebration of empowerment, creative solidarity, and the life-affirming force that women bring into the world — in art, in culture, and in the everyday. It is a spring awakening not only of nature, but of vision.
Elysian Awakening invites visitors to engage with the diverse manifestations of strength and resilience within femininity. Through compelling artworks, these artists encourage reflection on the evolving role of women in art, culture, and society. Each piece resonates with personal narratives and universal truths, crafting a rich tapestry that captivates all who encounter it.
