Re:Connect Art Festival
Fish Market
This immersive installation serves as a metaphorical tribute to Dubai as a unique global harbour, honoring its cultural and trade legacy. It celebrates Dubai as a crossroads of diverse paths and ideas, where art becomes not just a commodity, but a powerful means of profound communication.
In a world brimming with creative potential, only a fraction of artists ever achieve widespread recognition. Like fish in the sea, many remain unnoticed, while a select few are showcased at fairs and markets. Curated by Dubai-based art gallery RARARES, the Fish Market installation reimagines this reality by transforming the space into an immersive trade counter. Rather than rushing through the stalls, visitors are invited to pause, meditate, and connect with the healing sounds of the ocean.
Take a seat in the comfortable Pearl Diver chair, surrounded by Jellyfish Junior and Jellyfish Senior side tables, and dive into the acoustic and visual magic of digital art. Let your mind lose focus and your thoughts settle, offering you a moment of tranquility. This experience encourages a calm, focused state of mind, opening your heart, ears, and eyes to the beauty of the busy contemporary art world. Without pausing, you can’t fully engage with the surroundings.
