South Korean artist Chunkook Lee (b. 1995) develops a sculptural practice situated at the intersection of digital image production and materially driven form. Based in Seoul, he received his BA in Sculpture from Chung-Ang University and an MFA from Hongik University, shaping an approach grounded in the convergence of virtual modeling, craft-based processes, and a heightened sensitivity to material transformation. Translating the visual languages of gaming, simulation, and contemporary image culture into constructed objects, Lee works across aluminum, resin, glass, polymer clay, and 3D-printed elements, moving fluidly between digital conception and tactile fabrication.

His work draws on mythological, fantastical, and religious iconographies, merging organic motifs with human anatomical structures to articulate a symbolic vocabulary that reflects on the shared vitality of natural and corporeal forms. Within this framework, ornament emerges as an expanded sculptural condition, no longer a decorative supplement but a generative surface through which meaning, material origin, and perception are negotiated.
